Our Story

At The Supported Kitchen INC , we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to feel valued, included, and empowered through meaningful work.

Founded with a passion for community, inclusion, and creativity, The Supported Kitchen Inc provides supported employment and skill development opportunities for individuals living with a disability and others experiencing disadvantage through meaningful, hands-on work in food production.

One of our most loved initiatives is Lily’s Dog Treats , created in honour of Lily — a much-loved English Cream Golden Retriever whose gentle nature, love, and connection with people inspired the heart behind the business. Lily was more than a dog; she brought comfort, joy, companionship, and unconditional love to so many people, and her spirit continues through every part of what we do.

Lily’s Dog Treats is a premium range of all-natural, preservative-free dog treats lovingly handmade and packaged by our supported workforce.

What began as a small idea inspired by a love of dogs and community has grown into a thriving social enterprise stocked in more than 60 locations across the Mornington Peninsula and South Gippsland, as well as sold through local markets and our online store.

Today, we proudly support and employ 25 individuals who participate across every part of the business — from sourcing ingredients and baking treats to packaging, labelling, customer service, and selling at markets. Every participant is encouraged to work in roles suited to their individual strengths and abilities, while building confidence, independence, workplace skills, and a sense of purpose.

At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to creating safe, supportive, and inclusive employment pathways where people are given the opportunity to grow, connect, and thrive.

Our Mission

Our mission is to create meaningful and inclusive employment opportunities for people living with a disability and others experiencing disadvantage, enabling them to build skills, confidence, and independence through real-world work experiences.

Through Lily’s Dog Treats and our supported employment programs, we aim to:

• Provide safe, supported, and meaningful employment pathways
• Build practical workplace and life skills that increase independence
• Reduce social and economic disadvantage through inclusive employment
• Strengthen community participation and connection
• Develop sustainable social enterprise models that reinvest back into social impact

Every dog treat we make represents far more than a product — it represents opportunity, belonging, purpose, and community.

By supporting Lily’s Dog Treats, you are directly helping create lasting opportunities where every individual is respected, included, and empowered to contribute in meaningful ways. 🐾
